How We Help: Building Systems for Success

Students who struggle with executive functioning don’t usually respond well to phrases like "try harder" or "be more organized." They need instruction on how to organize their time and materials. Our tutoring is practical, individualized, and hands-on:

  • Explicit Instruction. We teach strategies for time management, note taking, and organization.
  • Customized Systems: We help students build individualized  systems (planners, digital calendars, color-coding) that work for them.
  • Academic Integration: We help students build planning and execution skills while integrating their current schoolwork and projects.
  • Accountability & Routine:  We help students establish homework routines and positively reinforce new habits.

Before starting executive functioning coaching sessions, we begin with an initial assessment of your child to pinpoint exactly what their needs are and where their executive functioning breakdown is occurring. From there, we create an individualized tutoring plan to systematically strengthen their weak areas.
